Vietnam Cares, does care, wants to care, will care given the chance. Poverty, misfortune and the needy populate our world and flicker in and out of our lives. From the latest disaster on the news to the charity shops that line the streets. Yet, sometimes our own lives can consume the needs of others and even though we want to care, would care, we find it difficult to make that next step when our own worlds won’t stop. My world was like this, a blur of materialism and business, even self-absorption, until I started to travel the world. Then, suddenly the realisation of what I had seen on the television and papers was in front of me, literally clinging to my hands begging for help. There wasn’t another channel to flick over to, a train to catch, another page to turn. I had to take the next step. I had to go from wanting to do something to doing it. Now I’ve begun our world is a phenomenal planet and some say that the only thing wrong with it is the human race. A bold statement, but you only have to pick up a newspaper in any part of the world to understand why it’s said. Day in and day out you read about doom and gloom mostly created by mankind’s greed and diverse religious beliefs. However there is another side of the coin and it’s this side that I want to focus on. This site is currently ranked number 5 (well it was I am just moving hosts so may take me a moment) within the Google search engine, a sought-after position, and one that gets a lot of views when someone searches for the words “Vietnam cares”. I therefore want to use this sites position to benefit Vietnam.
